What Is Botulinum Neurotoxin?
Botulinum neurotoxin is a very complex substance produced by bacteria. Botulinum neurotoxin attaches itself exclusively to nerve cells that activate the muscular system or specific glands – effectively and accurately blocking an overactive muscle or gland. The effect is reversible after a certain period of time (dependent on dosage and injection location), meaning repetition of the injection is typically necessary.

How It Works
XEOMIN is made through a unique precision manufacturing process that isolates the therapeutic component of the molecule and removes the accessory proteins that don’t play an active role in treatment.
The muscle under the skin contracts when facial expressions are made, forming frown lines. As your skin ages, these repeated expressions cause lasting frown lines. Neurotoxins, such as XEOMIN, are prescription medications that block the release of the chemicals that cause these muscle contractions so frown lines are softened.
XEOMIN (incobotulinumtoxinA) is used to treat cervical dystonia or blepharospasm and moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults. Botulinum toxin blocks nerve activity in the muscles, causing a temporary reduction in muscle activity.
