Comprehensive Stool Analysis:
Gastrointestinal complaints are among the most common reasons that patients seek medical care. Symptoms associated with GI disorders include persistent diarrhea, constipation, bloating, indigestion, irritable bowel syndrome and malabsorption. The Comprehensive Stool Analysis can help assess digestive and absorptive functions, the presence of opportunistic pathogens and to monitor the efficacy of therapeutic remediation of GI disorders. This is a stool kit you will take home with you.
Food Sensitivity Testing
88 foods
115 foods
152 foods
This is a IGG blood test we will draw and send off at the time of your visit. It will show what foods you are sensitive to and which you can rotate safely into the diet.
Micronutrient Testing
SpectraCell’s Micronutrient tests measure the function of 35 nutritional components including vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and amino acids within our white blood cells. Scientific evidence shows us that analyzing the white blood cells gives us the most accurate analysis of a body’s deficiencies. This is a blood test done in the office only.
Telemere Testing
Telomeres are sections of genetic material at the end of each chromosome whose primary function is to prevent chromosomal “fraying” when a cell replicates. As a cell ages, its telomeres become shorter. Eventually, the telomeres become too short to allow cell replication, the cell stops dividing and will ultimately die – a normal biological process. SpectraCell’s Telomere Test can determine the length of a patient’s telomeres in relation to the patient’s age. This is a blood test done in office only.
Organic Acid Testing
Organic acid testing is a way to measure whether your body is getting and using nutrients to drive optimal health. Nutrients are protecting agents. Just as your car has additives and devices that protect it, nutrients serve to protect your heart, brain, and other critical organs. Like a car’s
gauges warn of potential problems, your body has certain chemical indicators, known as organic acids, that can alert you to potential problems. Also measured are markers that assess intestinal health, neurotransmitter activity, and detoxification demands. Early warnings
can help you make diet and lifestyle changes that may both extend and enhance your quality of life.
Methylation Profile
Normal metabolism of methionine is critical for cellular transmethylation of DNA, proteins and neurotransmitters. Aberrant methionine metabolism can occur in anyone at any age and can be associated with numerous health consequences including cardiovascular disease and cancer. The Methylation Profile provides a functional assessment of the phenotypic expression of common SNPs (MTHFR, MS, CBS) by evaluating the plasma levels of methionine, cysteine, SAM, SAH, homocysteine and cystathionine, and provides the important “methylation index,” a ratio of SAM to SAH.
Genome Testing
Healthy Weight DNA InsightTM is one of the most comprehensive weight-related genetic tests available, offering a unique combination of nutrigenetic, medication and general health information that enables physicians to make patient-specific recommendations on issues in order to help achieve or maintain a healthy weight. There are a variety of saliva tests that are offered to look at your DNA to help Flowers Medical Group develop a plan to keep you healthy based on genetic variants.
Additional testing is available upon request.
